General Directorate for Water Safety and Security
It is a general administration that reports directly to the head of the laboratories sector at the Alexandria Drinking Water Company. It prepares and implements water safety and security plans, evaluates and manages risks, and develops appropriate corrective measures. The Water Safety and Security Department was established in mid-2016, and the recommendations of the first meeting of the Supreme Quality Committee were issued in the presence of the heads of the laboratories and quality sectors of the affiliated companies to raise the structure of the Water Safety and Safety Department to a general administration, which was held on 3/27/2022, and the general administration was formed on 10/12/2023, and the chemist/ Ahmed Al-Shami and its affiliated departments were assigned to manage it on 11/1/2023 The chemist/Asmaa Eid is responsible for its management, and the chemist/Silvana Nazia is responsible for the management of the west and south.

Water safety and security plans are a tool for assessing and managing risks that aim to ensure the safety of drinking water from the water source to the consumer and rely mainly on cooperation mechanisms between all concerned parties, including: (the Ministry of Housing and Utilities, the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, the Drinking Water, Wastewater and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of the Environment, the Water Bodies, Governorate and Neighborhoods Police)

Preparing and implementing water safety and security plans stipulated by Minister of Health and Population Resolution No. 182 of 2025 regarding the standards and specifications that must be available in water suitable for drinking and human use.
