The Head of Alexandria Water Company Directs the Implementation of Fuel and Raw Material Conservation Plans at All Stations…‼️
In line with the state's direction towards rationalizing spending and maximizing resource utilization, and in implementation of the directives of Eng. Mustafa El-Shimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, Eng. El-Sayed Rayan, Chairman and Managing Director of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, issued directives to implement the executive plans for rationalizing fuel and raw material consumption (chlorine and alum) at all company stations. This is part of a comprehensive plan aimed at raising operational efficiency, strengthening governance principles, supporting integrity, and achieving optimal resource utilization.
In this context, the Integrity Support Department conducted a number of field visits to the Nozha, Furn El-Garaya, El-Maamoura, El-Mansheya (2), Mariout (1), and Mariout (2) stations at kilometer 40. This is in light of the expansion of the conservation system's application following the success of the pilot phase, which included the El-Seyouf, El-Mansheya (1), and Sharqi stations, in preparation for its implementation at all company sites.
The visits included a review of the practical implementation mechanisms for fuel, chlorine, and alum conservation plans, emphasizing the importance of optimizing the use of these resources as fundamental pillars in drinking water production and purification processes. Discussions also covered best practices and successful experiences at the stations to leverage and disseminate them, ensuring improved operational efficiency and addressing any regulatory gaps without compromising the quality of service provided to citizens.
Engineer Elsayed Rayan, Chairman and Managing Director, affirmed that the company prioritizes resource conservation as a key pillar for achieving sustainability and enhancing institutional performance. He noted that implementing conservation plans is not limited to reducing consumption rates but aims to instill a culture of sound resource management and maximize the utilization of available resources, thereby supporting the quality of services provided to citizens and aligning with the state's direction towards governance and institutional excellence.
For her part, Dr. Yosr Salah El-Din explained that the company's integrity support system relies on a proactive approach based on prevention, awareness, and continuous improvement. She emphasized that fuel and raw material conservation plans were developed scientifically and with the active participation of various company sectors. This ensures the highest levels of operational efficiency, enhances transparency, and instills a culture of responsibility and resource conservation as a shared responsibility among all employees.
The visits concluded with an emphasis on the continued implementation of monitoring and evaluation programs and the exchange of expertise between stations. This contributes to standardizing best practices across the company, strengthening its ability to achieve its sustainable development goals, improving its work system, and providing distinguished service befitting the citizens of Alexandria Governorate.
