In line with the Egyptian government's directives to expand digital transformation applications and enhance integration among state institutions, and following the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater's instructions to support cooperation and the exchange of expertise and best practices among its subsidiaries, Alexandria Water Company received a technical delegation from the Information Technology sector of Damietta Water and Wastewater Company. The delegation, headed by Eng. Mohamed Taher Ismail, Vice Chairman of the Board and Head of the Information Technology and Digital Transformation Sector, and his accompanying team, visited to learn about Damietta's experience in automating and managing its crisis and disaster management system.

The delegation was received by Eng. El-Sayed Rayan, Chairman and Managing Director of Alexandria Water Company, and Eng. Mustafa El-Sayed, Head of the Technology and Digital Services Sector. The visit began at the company's main emergency room, where the operational system and crisis monitoring and management mechanisms were reviewed through a presentation explaining the room's functions and its role in monitoring, tracking, and responding quickly to various emergency situations. Integrating Digital Systems to Support Decision-Making

The company's Technology and Digital Services sector concluded the visit with a comprehensive technical presentation on the crisis management automation system. This included an explanation of the mechanisms for integration and electronic connectivity between the system and various other company systems, most notably the inventory management system, the hotline, laboratories, SCADA system, and GIS.

The visit also reviewed the mechanisms for cooperation and coordination between the Technology and Digital Services sector and various technical departments. This ensures the real-time and accurate flow of information and data, contributing to rapid situation analysis and timely decision-making.

The Crisis Vehicle: A Mobile Emergency Room

The visit included an inspection of the company's mobile crisis vehicle, which serves as a mobile emergency room equipped with the latest technologies, including cameras, display screens, communication equipment, and facilities for transmitting and holding meetings. This enables the management and monitoring of events in the field and supports rapid response and decision-making during crises. The delegation visited the main data center.

The delegation then proceeded to the company's headquarters, where they inspected the main data center and its technological infrastructure. They learned about its components and capabilities, which include network and security equipment, servers, storage units, monitoring and security systems, and other equipment that ensures the continuity and stability of digital services and the security of data and information.

At the conclusion of the visit, Engineer Sayed Rayan emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and the exchange of expertise among subsidiary companies, as well as leveraging successful experiences in various fields, especially given the rapid development of digital transformation applications in the drinking water and sanitation sector.

The engineer also stressed that technology is no longer merely a tool for developing work methods, but has become a fundamental element in building an integrated institutional system capable of dealing with crises efficiently and quickly. He pointed out that providing information and data immediately and accurately is one of the most important factors in supporting decision-makers and directly contributes to faster response times and improved crisis and emergency management.

He added that the Alexandria Water Company is keen to exchange knowledge and expertise with its sister companies, transfer successful experiences, and benefit from best practices. This enhances integration among subsidiaries and supports the Holding Company's efforts in building a sophisticated digital work system.

He pointed out that the integration of various digital systems and the linking of data and information between technical and technological sectors represent a significant step towards raising the efficiency of institutional performance, improving response times, and maximizing the utilization of available resources. This ultimately reflects positively on the sustainability and quality of services provided to citizens.

This visit comes within the framework of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater's commitment to establishing a culture of cooperation and the exchange of expertise and successful experiences. This contributes to the continued development and improvement of operational and crisis management systems, keeping pace with rapid technological advancements, and achieving the highest levels of readiness and preparedness to face various emergency situations.
